The story
Zodys, 8201 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park. The discount store opened here on September 27, 1962, and the chain's California stores closed in March 1986. The five hexagon letter boxes on the folded-plate canopy are redrawn from a 1962 Valley Times photo at the Los Angeles Public Library, with the letters traced from the photo one box at a time.
