After Dark

FM Station opened in North Hollywood in 1976 and was the Valley's hard-rock room until 1997; Poison, Warrant, Metallica and Great White played it. Weber's Place on Vanowen in Reseda was a dive bar with live music and punk shows. Sasch, on Ventura in Studio City, billed itself as "L.A.'s most sophisticated nightclub."

For the under-21 crowd there was the Sugar Shack, 12458 Magnolia at Whitsett, "L.A.'s most popular teenage night club" in the 1970s: dancing, games, snacks and a light show. Up in the Santa Susana Pass, just over the county line, the Pass Club dealt cards under four suit panels.

The signs, matchbook and coupon art are traced from the originals; only lines too small to trace are re-set.
