The story
An advertising postcard from about 1908 for the Lankershim and Van Nuys Ranchos: a painted bird's-eye view from the Pacific over the Santa Monica Mountains into the San Fernando Valley, with the Van Nuys and Lankershim townsites marked. From the San Fernando Valley History Digital Library at CSUN's Oviatt Library (original at the West Valley Museum), which lists it as public domain. Cleaned of dust and enlarged, never repainted. Printed with a cream border, 16×12 in.
